Janine Nelson - Registered psychologist

​Janine hold a master’s degree in counselling psychology. Currently, Janine is a doctoral candidate in the final dissertation stage of PsyD.  Janine’s doctoral research focus is in the areas of interpersonal neurobiology, psychoneuroimmunology, and the neuroscience of the mind/brain/body system.

Janine has over 20 years experience working in the counselling and mental health field, 10 years as a registered psychologist. In private practice since 2008, Janine treats individual adult/youth, couples, families, and offers play therapy for children age 8 and up for a variety of mental health and wellness concerns: anxiety, depression, trauma/attachment, addictions/co-current disorders, chronic pain, challenging life events/circumstances. Janine also has master level certification in meditation practice and clinical hypnotherapy, which, in addition to what is mentioned above, is appropriate for helping with weight loss and smoking cessation. Janine also has specific training/expertise in psycho-educational and other formal standardized assessment.

Janine was raised on a farm in rural Saskatchewan, and, other than intermittently relocating for university studies, has resided and worked in the Provost/Wainwright area for most of her life. Janine is familiar with the challenges that come with rural living, and understands the limited availability of health/wellness resources in the area. Janine strives to provide the quality of care that our community deserves, without the long drive or extra expense of travel for specialized services.      

kendra barss - Personal development facilitator 

​​Kendra has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Alberta. She has taken courses in counselling, holistic health, holistic nutrition, stress management, and post-partum mental health, as well as holding a certificate in professional organizing. Kendra has worked with children and adults alike in her experience as a Family Development Worker, and has training in Signs of Safety which encompasses many different tools for working with children and adults alike. Kendra’s passion lays with focussing on the client as a whole and finding creative solutions to fit the client’s life.
Kendra was raised in Wainwright and although she moved to Edmonton for University, she returned with her husband in 2013, and currently resides in Wainwright with her husband and two children.

Hayley Dow - certified reflexologist & Yoga Instuctor

​Hayley is a Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist (RCRT) with the Reflexology Association of Canada (RAC).  She is currently certified in both Foot and Ear Reflexology.  In addition, Hayley is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), has a social work diploma, and an educational assistant certificate.

Hayley has been practicing yoga for many years and decided she would love to become a yoga teacher, as she has a deep interest in working with people.  She has focused her practice on teaching gentle and restorative classes.

​In 2016, Hayley wanted to expand her knowledge further into holistic health, and after learning about all of the benefits associated with Reflexology, she decided to start her foot reflexology certification. The following year she continued her education, and was certified in Ear Reflexology.  Hayley has experience working with a variety of health conditions  in children, adults and seniors.  

Hayley was raised in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan and moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 2002 to attend college.  She relocated to Wainwright from Medicine Hat in 2015 with her husband and two children.

stacey rathje - office manager

Stacey is our part time office manager,  and is able to assist with scheduling, providing additional information, and help with any billing & invoicing questions.

Her previous work experience includes healthcare, administration, and social media management.  She grew up on a farm south of Wainwright, and currently resides in town with her husband.
